Artist's Comments

This is an edition of 10 printmaking project. It is a single lino block carving on an 22x30 Stonehendge paper. It is my attempt to monumentalize a fading technology using a fading technology. A mundane forgotten object and medium illustrated by an often overlooked medium. I used to hate printmaking but I am starting to warm up to it. It just takes a long time and it is messy.

Thanks. The fact that I had a good source image to work from really helps.

I'd say the hardest part was getting a good transfer from the photocopy. Using oil of wintergreen to transfer a photocopied image onto a lino block is an infuriating but delightful smelling process.

Thanks. Hopefully, someday I'll get around to doing more printmaking. I think I've actually grown to like it as a medium. I just need to find the time and a bit of motivation.
